Most of us don’t really understand what it takes to actually feel great and happy with yourself and for that reason they find themselves trying completely wrong things with their lives. For that reason I am going to highlight some important points or steps that if you actually practice you will achieve happiness that you have never felt before. This points have been scientifically  proven by experts such as psychiatrist and scientist worldwide that it actually works. It doesn’t matter whether you are rich or poor because many people equate happiness with what they actually have or own which is absolutely wrong. Happiness come from inside your brain and for that reason you can actually control it or train your brain.To cut the story short let me break it down to you on the key points. Number one is
Be thankful;
having gratitude is actually a good and sustainable way to remain happy for a long time. For this I mean look on the good side of you and appreciate it .Look at all you’ve achieved over years or who you are with all the years. You can even practice to jot down anything good about yourself before you start your day and do it consistently. Be it your parents, college education, sports achievements, good friends or siblings, living in a good neighborhood, paying your bills, being in good health just anything good. It doesn’t necessarily mean old thing because it can even be yesterday or today. Appreciate small things like nature, sunset or sunrise. Let me give you an example, let’s say one person wins a lottery and the other person gets involved in a road accident and gets crippled , at that moment obviously  the one who won a lottery will experience happiness that he has never felt before in his life, and the other person  might actually be depressed. Scientific proof and research states that after one or two years both people would have the same level of happiness. This is because human are good at adapting and forgetting past event and focus so much on the current situation. Trust me for most people it takes one one bad thing to overwrite all good things in their lives forgetting all the levels they have crossed.
           Be optimistic; actually being a sanguine person is one of the best trait to achieve the full potential of your happiness. For this I mean a person might have tones of problem sometimes but still manages to put a smile on his or her face because one is grateful or hopeful. For instance you may be feeling so sad and one of your friends approaches you and tells you his or her problems then you realize that they  three times yours and still they are smiling, trust me at that moment you will be grateful for yourself instantly .What changed that is your mind and perspective. For that reason you can train your mind to feel that gratefulness without necessarily someone telling you their problems.
           Don’t over think; just try to relax and calm your mind. Don’t even think about the future as some people may say let the future worry about itself. See yourself at that very moment because trust  me all the times we are thinking about something so much chances are we are thing about it in a negative and serious ways by either worrying about the past or the future  . For instance can  practice this doing  meditation to clear your mind, do journals or therapy.It actually helps if you do it consistently like an habit.
        Stop addictionthis is probably the most dangerous way to look for happiness or satisfaction as it slowly take away your true sustainable happiness without one realizing it. You become a slave of it and it prevent you from looking for other good ways to be happy. Addiction for instance is like a blob that mask your unhappiness for just sometime because it’s not sustainable. Eventually it will leave you feeling guilty. Addiction include drug abuse, sex, watching TV, playing video games, gambling, internet, gossiping. To stop addition you should give yourself a reason, like to improve your health, reduce your expenditure and so on. It’s actually a good feeling when you are not addicted to anything. I know you can’t just stop an addiction instantly but you can do it gradually by may be reducing the amount of time or the amount of the addiction  substance and slowly replacing it with something positive that builds you or improve your daily happiness. Something like writing and reading, educating people and so on. You exercise daily because exercise has been proven to release chemical in your brain responsible for your unhappiness.
          Build relationships; Human were naturally created to be social. This is  a very important point because research show that most people that even commit suicide is because they kept their problem to themselves and drawing wrong conclusion based on the state of depression they were in because no one was there to encourage them. This is most probably because they had no relations with anyone. Another example is you may find people in remote areas with no much of material thing or poverty stricken living happy lives with absolutely no worries. The reason behind it is because they have good social structure and norms that guide them. They even conduct ceremonies to boost their social relationship unlike the so called city life where everybody is living their own life with virtual social media relationships.
         Meditation;  develop a habit of meditating every day for just some few minutes. By this it mean to calm and clear your mind. Don’t think of anything at all whether present or in the future. You can  do  this by practicing yoga.
          Surge; this situation is where you are fully into something and not thinking of any other thing .Being fully in the moment and diverting all your energy to particular thing. For instance doing something  fairly challenging but matching your skill level like playing musical instrument or a sport. You can do this by stopping multi-tasking and try to develop proficiency when doing something you love doing.
         Set goals and purpose; you can’t just be living without any specific things you want to achieve because you may one day loose track of life  which you  will not realize till later when it’s late, unless you have a goal. Have something to keeping you working hard every day and in the process of achieving it you will achieve that happiness.
In conclusion happiness preferential, you have an  option to be happy or sad in life because nothing will make you happy unless you choose to. Not even someone determine your happiness but you. Your happiness will not come to you but will come from you.
